World Heli Challenge

...I'll be taken up in a Helicopter to the top of the mountain and then all the riders get to find their own way down, the judges look for style and creativity, there is a film crew in the chopper filming the runs so you get to see your run when you're done. This is the first time I've been invited to ride in the event and I'm stoked to be involved, I'll keep you up to date with the Challenge here so make sure you check in.

Today they brought the choppers into Wanaka and set them down at the shore, some of the riders were there too. It was freezing down there and pretty windy so they didn't stay long but it was enough to get everyone stoked for the event. Earlier I headed up to Cardrona and did some road gap runs. thats when you head up in the car get dropped off and ride back down the mountain between the roads, it's the closest you'll get to what I'll experience in the WHC without getting up in a chopper. There was fresh snow last night so that's always a good time to ride the road gaps. The down side is you have to hitch a ride back up and sometimes that can take awhile.
